Some visuals of the bitch Rita: An IR loop by NOAA. The Wall Street Journal has a graphic showing Rita's projected path in relation to the oil drilling spots in the Gulf of Mexico. Weather Underground has a tracking map and strike probability map. NASA has an animation of what flooding would do to the Galveston coastline.

Lieutenant General Russel Honore, the commander of all active duty troops involved in the Katrina aftermath, has nailed a reporter in less time than it takes to blink. Obviously, the hapless pencil neck asked a question about why what was done to prepare for Rita was not done to prepare for Katrina. A squishy politician pining for reelection would have answered something along the lines of "That is indeed a good question, Bob, and thank you for asking. You see, I believe that we need to reach over party lines and abandon political bickering to make sure what happened in Louisiana and Mississippi does not happen again in Texas. We must show compassion to a population that needs our help. God bless America." LTG Honore, on the other hand, is not a political animal. See how he reacts to what was meant to be a slickly phrased rethorical trap. Political Teen has the video of the exchange (crank up the volume to hear the reporter's question , but beware LTG Honore's loud and clear answer if the kids are sleeping...).
